Vision The vision of the Ocean Isle Beach Conservancy is for the island, its residents, the general public and Town of Ocean Isle Beach to be a community in balance and in harmony with nature, containing as much protected green and open space as possible.
Mission Statement
The mission of the Ocean Isle Beach Land Conservancy is to
enrich the island through acquisition or conservation easement of open and
natural areas, conservation education and the promotion of good land
stewardship. The conservancy aspires to bring together citizens and
landowners, natives and newcomers to set aside lands for conservation and
public recreation. The conservancy will become an informed resource on
island ecology.
Intent The intent of the Ocean Isle Beach Land Conservancy
is to establish public, town-park and green space areas throughout the island,
providing public and handicap access to nature, natural views, and recreational
opportunities consistent with the family atmosphere enjoyed on the
island. A list of possible island locations follows:
●Undeveloped (unplatted) land,
marshland, and wetland north, west and east of Shallotte Boulevard.
●A central park
●Land for walk-paths and gazebos to provide scenic lookouts
●East end oceanfront-erosion damaged lots
●Spoil area north of Lee Street
●Island east of Lee

Strategy The Ocean Isle Beach Conservancy will develop a contact plan for owners of the affected lands and begin building a path to successful establishment of the conservancy's vision, mission and intent; and will conduct an active and ongoing public education a information campaign.
